Many networks are putting their shows on hold for the Winter Olympics. CBS didn’t even start its regular schedule until after the sporting event. However, ABC isn’t putting all of its shows on a break, and there’s some exciting news for The Rookie and Will Trent fans.
Both of these shows will continue to air throughout the Winter Olympics. This makes a lot of sense, considering ABC held them for the midseason with the intention of running through straight through without a break — although, there will be at least one break in the Will Trent schedule due to the State of the Union Address.
So, now we get ready for what’s to come in the new episodes, which will air during the second week of February. The bad news is High Potential will head on a break, returning in March 2026.
The Rookie gets a Valentine’s Day episode
As we previously shared, The Rookie season 8 episode 6 will be a Valentine’s Day-focused episode. Bailey and Nolan’s marriage is in trouble, as Bailey wants to move to DC and Nolan wants to stay in LA. The two either need to find a way to compromise, such as making a long-distance marriage work, or one of them will need to sacrifice their career.
Meanwhile, Lucy has bought the perfect Valentine’s Day gift for Tim, and now she can’t find it. Of course, rather than just admit this to Tim, she will try to hide it, and she’ll probably try to find a way to replace it. Then there’s Celina, who believes that Miles is cursed, and she’ll want to break that for him.
Faith finds out she’s been used on Will Trent
Meanwhile, Faith has learned that the man she has been dating recently is connected to the animal gang heist. It turns out that this guy likely knew exactly who she was and purposely targeted her in the bar that first night. It didn’t matter that she used Amanda’s name instead of her own.
They need to be able to get Malcolm to admit to everything, and the best way to do that is for Faith to use their relationship. She’ll wear a wire to help get him to mention something that they can use. However, that means putting herself in danger, and Will and Ormestead won’t like that idea!
The Rookie continues to air on Mondays at 10/9c and Will Trent continues to air on Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
