The end of the Will Trent season 4 premiere delivered a cliffhanger that we can’t possibly believe. There is not a chance in hell that the series would kill off its titular character. However, it is good to know from the promo that this is the case.
The Will Trent season 4 premiere did not disappoint. Not only did it tell us that Ormewood and Amanda are definitely still alive, we also got a look at the face from Will’s past that is coming back to haunt him. James has broken out of jail, and he is more than willing to put lives at risk to get what he wants.
With the premiering ending with two burned out bodies in a car, we knew that this was all a ploy. For now, the cops will wonder if it’s going to be Will and James, but Angie has figured out the truth.

The promo for the episode makes one thing clear. Will Trent was not in the car. While the tape recorder suggests that he was, we just know that James put that on someone else’s body so that the cops would think that he and Will had been in the car. James knows that it’s only a matter of time before the truth is found out, but he likely thinks that he has more time than he really has. After all, he’ll be relying on the cops having to go through dental work.
The GBI doesn’t need that, though. They have Angie, who knows Will well enough to know the type of wallet he would carry. So, when she finds something left behind in the pockets, she knows that it’s not Will’s, and that tells them all something.
Will is still somewhere out there. With that knowledge, they can focus on the search.

Will is looking for a way to escape
The end of the Will Trent season 4 premiere made it clear that James had a bigger plan for Will. It looks like James is going to take Will somewhere to trap him, and that means Will has to use his wits to get out.
The question is whether he knows that the GBI and APD are on the hunt for him as well. He’ll know that James has done something to throw off the scent to search for him, but will he know the full details? Whatever is going on, Will and Angie’s relationship will become even more complicated, and it’s also likely to have an effect on her relationship with Seth.
