When Will Trent season 4’s premiere ended with the reveal that Will and James may be dead, we refused to believe it. Well, especially when it comes to the titular character! The promo for Will Trent season 4 episode 2 makes it pretty clear that Will isn’t dead.

The question now is where Will is. What has James done with him, and how much time is on the clock for the GBI and APD to find him? This isn’t the first time Will has been held hostage, and he often needs someone’s help to get out of the mess.

What to expect on Will Trent season 4 episode 2

Of course, we’re getting into what’s happened to Will. While Faith is worried that Will’s body is one of those in the car due to the tape recorder, Angie knows him much better. She grew up with him, and they had a romantic relationship at one time. There are still a lot of complicated feelings between them, and they’re sure to come up in the new episode.

Will disappears after an attack, prompting the team to search, while he's trapped and trying to escape, complicating his complex relationship with Angie.

As for where Will is, he’s been held hostage somewhere by James. The biggest question is whether James was in the car or not. It’s possible that he was and something went wrong with his attempt to make it look like Will had been killed. After all, James’s plans don’t work out all that often.

However, James probably killed two unsuspecting victims in the car, so he could go about dealing with his revenge plan against Will. By having the two bodies, he knows that it would take time for the GBI and APD to work out that it wasn’t the two of them. What he probably didn’t count on was Angie knowing Will well enough to know that a particular wallet wasn’t his.

That doesn’t stop the GBI and APD from initially treating the investigation as Will’s murder. Angie will need to do what she can to prove the evidence doesn’t add up.

Will Trent airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
