Will Trent just gave fans a wild episode, but star Ramon Rodriguez is hinting that this is only the start of the crazy twists to come!
Caution: This article contains SPOILERS for Will Trent season 4, episode 11
Will Trent has been wrestling all season with a mental hallucination of serial killer James Ulster (Greg Germann). When a murder victim hints someone is copying Ulster, Will flies to Puerto Rico to check in on his uncle Antonio (John Ortiz). Will was aided by FBI Agent Elkie (Mallory Jansen) as they realized someone was after Antonio to get at Will.
The adventure took some twists and turns, from a pack of deadly spiders to someone setting up a murder scene mimicking the death of Will’s mother in childbirth. But the big twist came when Ormewood and Faith followed Will to Puerto Rico and found a woman’s body in the fridge with an ID badge identifying her as… FBI Agent Elkie.
It turned out the woman Will was with was Adelaide, Ulster’s daughter from a one-night stand with a social worker long ago. She was a chip off the old block, a psychopath ready to seek revenge for her father’s death. Thankfully, Will had already seen through her story to get the drop on her and lock her in a cell.
However, Adelaide managed to escape, so Will knows she’s out there, still plotting against him. Speaking to Collider, Rodriguez said that while the last half of the season is still being planned, what’s coming will be epic.
“We do not know yet. Those conversations, everyone’s really focused on just finishing strong. We’re at that last 10-yard line, so that’s the main focus. But I will say there’s going to be plenty of story. Where the remainder of the season goes, there are going to be surprises. There are going to be highs and lows. There will be some questions answered. It is going to be fully loaded. The way this episode rocks people and feels like, “Oh, wow!,” is going to continue as the season goes on. I think audiences are going to be floored in many, many ways.”
That sounds like some bigger stuff coming, and that may play into the larger scope of the storyline.

Obviously, Adelaide is just like her father, not just in being a psychotic killer but also a conniving figure and likely aided by other agents. Rodriguez teased that this episode is a turning point for the entire season, making it key for fans.
“This episode really becomes the springboard and the catalyst for the rest of the season. A lot of the things we end up exploring story wise are all related to the events of this episode. Trying to find Antonio becomes mission number one, and finding Adelaide. As we were building Adelaide, and we teased it in episode 11, she’s very Ulster-like, manipulative, and smart. She’s someone that can shapeshift. She can be an FBI agent, and then we see this other, very dark side of her. But we also met her mom in this episode, and I hope we get a sense that something wasn’t right there either. Something was off with this lady. Something was off in this family, obviously. It’s going to be a really fun journey. It’s going to be a real roller coaster from this episode to the very end.”
Given how intense this episode was, the idea that it gets even crazier seems impossible. Yet it shows Will Trent is hitting its stride in dramatic stories and pitting Will against his deadliest opponent yet.
Will Trent airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC.
