There’s a new training officer in the unit, and it doesn’t sound like she and Nolan will get along. Here’s what to expect in The Rookie Season 2, Episode 4.

It’s time for Nolan to get a new training officer in The Rookie. However, things aren’t going to go all that smoothly. After all, this new training officer doesn’t know all that Nolan has done up to this point—or maybe she does!

Nolan isn’t the only one who is going to struggle with Nyla Harper. Bradford warns Nolan to be careful around her in the promo. She has an “ends justifies the means” vibe and that could mean anyone is put at risk to make sure she gets her goal.

If only that was the only problem this week. Officer Lopez is going to end up on a case that triggers a personal memory. Will this be a memory that links to her childhood or a past case? There’s nothing to suggest either in the promo or synopsis, which makes this an extremely interesting storyline.

There are chances that we’ll meet a character who feels the need to prove herself. I get a sense of her being a little like Owen Hunt in Grey’s Anatomy at first, who came from a background that required initiative in a world full of technology and equipment.

With Rachel’s birthday just around the corner, Officer Bradford finds himself in a personal dilemma. He needs to find a birthday gift. What’s the betting that he’s going to turn to Lucy to help him figure out the best gift?
