Prodigal Son ratings fell further on Nov. 3 as FOX’s freshman crime drama kept looking for viewers. See the latest Prodigal Son numbers.

While Prodigal Son has won over FOX, the show’s live ratings continue to show that it hasn’t yet been as well-received by TV viewers.

Monday’s seventh episode “Q&A” brought in 3.19 million people watching live. That was a fairly worrisome drop from last week’s 3.45 (-0.26, or 260,000 less viewers).

That’s the smallest audience the show has had in four weeks; the Oct. 14 airing had 3.61 million, and it’s been downhill since for the freshman TV crime drama.

So though the network has given the series a full-season order, there’s definitely cause for some concern if you’re one of the people who are already hooked.

Prodigal Son remains one of the least-watched broadcast TV shows on Monday nights. It ranked tenth out of 12 programs this week, which is the third week in a row it’s been near the bottom of the rankings.

The only shows with smaller total audiences are The CW‘s All American and Black Lightning, which means the FOX series is still the lowest-ranked series on any of the Big 4 networks.

In its time slot, Prodigal Son is within striking distance of NBC‘s also floundering legal drama Bluff City Law (which has continued to drop to 3.36 million), but well behind ABC and CBS‘s established shows The Good Doctor and Bull (5.91 and 5.71 respectively).

When zeroing in on the target demographic of adults 18-49, there’s been no change for the FOX series. “Q&A” scored a 0.7 share, which is the same as last Monday, and ranked it seventh out of the 12 shows.

That’s not great, either, but it’s second in the 10 p.m. time slot behind only The Good Doctor. Both Bull and Bluff City Law are attracting less live viewers within that coveted age range.

But will that positive—albeit in the demographic that’s most important to advertisers and thus has some sway with networks—be enough to keep this quirky serial killer drama alive?

Next week is the last episode before at least one repeat, so will Prodigal Son ratings be able to pick back up? If they continue to drop, going into reruns probably won’t help, as regular viewers may tune out of episodes they’ve already seen. If you’re a fan of the show, watching live is a must now if you’re not already.
