NBC sets January premiere for Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector

If you’re ready for some new TV crime dramas, you’ll want to turn your attention to NBC in the midseason. Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector is on its way, and now it as a January premiere date.

The peacock network has set its midseason dates. Many of them are in January, but some have to wait for February because of Thursday Night Football, according to Deadline. The new Lincoln Rhyme series is one of the January arrivals.

Why would NBC put a new show on Friday nights? The idea of the “Friday night death slot” seems to be slowly changing. Last season, The Blacklist was moved to Fridays and shortened to a 13-episode midseason series. It helped the ratings bounce back, which is certainly nothing to frown about.

This does bode well for Lincoln Rhymes: Hunt for the Bone Collector. It suggests that those looking to tune in for TV crime dramas are willing to use their Friday nights for that.

This series tells the story of the titular character, Lincoln Rhyme, who is one of NYPD’s finest until a serial killer injures him and causes him to retire. Of course, he can’t just do nothing. Instead, he becomes a forensic consultant. Russell Hornsby plays the lead character, with Arielle Kebbel and Brían F. O’Byrne also starring.

Lincoln Rhyme: Hunt for the Bone Collector is the new title for the series. It was originally just going to be called Lincoln. It suggests the first season is going to be focused on the first novel in the series, The Bone Collector. This could mean subsequent seasons, if offered, will see the title adapt slightly.
