The episode is titled “The Hidden Staircase,” which is a title almost everyone will know. After all, it was the title of the recent movie released on DVD just ahead of the TV show’s debut. However, the story is going to be vastly different.

George calls Nancy for help when she realizes that her sister has gone missing. Ted hasn’t just gone missing, though. Nancy knows that Ted has been kidnapped and it all connects to a case when Nancy was a child. It links to her very first case, and that means we’ll get some flashbacks of how Nancy became the town’s detective.
More importantly, father and daughter are teaming up. After everything that’s happened so far, we wondered if the two could get back on the same page. Their animosity between each other affected George’s walk through the astral plane for Ace, but they were able to work through some of their anger. Now it’s time to close that chapter on the story and move forward with the truth.
Carson will also be the perfect person to be there for Nancy as she revisits the past. Not all her memories of the case are going to be good, and she’ll want someone who was there in the aftermath to be there now.
