The Deputy pilot gave us the introduction to the characters. Now it’s time to see how Bill deals with his new role in Deputy Episode 2.

The Deputy pilot episode didn’t give us anything completely original within the TV crime drama genre, but it did offer hope of that in the future. Plus, there’s no doubt that having Stephen Dorff back on our screens was awesome. Now it’s time for Deputy Episode 2, but what can we expect from the episode?

Series premieres are always tricky. They’re designed for the network bosses instead of the viewers at home, a way to encourage the network bosses to pick the shows up. It’s the second episode that’s really written for us, so we should expect some of the stakes to be higher. While we’re still getting to know characters, we’re past the initial introductions.

More from TV Crime Dramas

We’ll certainly get to know Bill more throughout Deputy Episode 2. He needs to get used to this new role that he’s in, which means playing politician more than catching criminals. That will certainly be hard on him considering he loved his previous job. But he’s sheriff now, so he needs to act like it. Can you teach an old dog new tricks?

It doesn’t help that the criminal of the week is one connected to Bill’s past. This is personal, and he wants to make sure the criminal is caught.

There will be some character introductions in the episode, though. There are two new deputies joining the team. Just who will they be?

Check out the promo and synopsis for Deputy Episode 2, titled “10-8 Outlaws:”

"Struggling to come to terms with the new responsibilities of his role as sheriff, Bill refuses to stay out of the field when a criminal to whom he is personally connected resurfaces; two new deputies come into the picture."
