Blindspot Season 5 is still to premiere, but that doesn’t mean we’re not looking ahead. There’s one New Year’s Resolution for the final season.

Throughout January, we’re looking at the New Year’s Resolutions TV crime dramas can make to offer better storylines or fan-favorite moments. Blindspot hasn’t premiered its final season yet and won’t until the summer, but that doesn’t mean we’re not already thinking about how it will end.

There’s only one satisfying ending for Jane and Weller. It has to be our New Year’s Resolution for Day 10.

The show: Blindspot

The resolution: To give Jeller a happy ending

Why it needs to be made: The chemistry between Jane and Weller has been there from the very beginning, and you just have to watch this fan-made video if you’re not convinced. It didn’t take long for Blindspot to answer the will-they-won’t-they question at first. Of course, it didn’t initially last, but eventually, Jane and Weller found their way back to each other and got married.

Things have been a little pearshaped since then. They’ve struggled with Jane’s memories being back, her illness, her blindness, and much more. Season 4 was one difficult season to watch as Jeller fans.

With the final season airing in the summer, there’s still time for the writers to make sure this is the best possible story going. It’s important to have the best possible ending, and that means Jeller happy together.

Many shows would choose to end with the death of a character, especially a show like Blindspot. There’s usually some sort of huge sacrifice, or it turns out that one of the characters just isn’t allowed to find true happiness. However, some of the best series finales have decided to offer the cherished, heartfelt endings.

After all these years of routing for the two to be together, I’m hoping that we’ll get the positive ending. The chance for the two to ride off in the sunset.

We’ve seen that Jeller works so well. In fact, in Season 2, Weller got back with his ex temporarily and they have a child together. This could have been a dealbreaker for some, but Jane took it all in her stride and now supports Weller in co-parenting Bethany.

In Season 3, Weller also steps up as an understanding man. Jane learns that she had a baby when she was 16, but that baby was taken. The fourth season sees the “baby” (now a full-grown teen) come to live with Jeller. While it’s rocky, they all find a balance.

They deserve to be able to continue their happiness. Blindspot owes us that after all this time.

One storyline that I could accept is that one is injured. That injury leads to both leaving their dangerous jobs and living some sort of quiet life for the rest of their days.
