Tommy is about the first LA Chief of Police. While that is a focus, the show needs to make sure it focuses on everything that makes the character special.

Tommy premieres on Feb. 6, and CBS is certainly pushing the promotion on it. It leads to the series being part of our New Year’s Resolution, as we look ahead at a general feeling for the series based on the promo.

For those who haven’t heard too much about it just yet, the series is about the first female Chief of Police in LA. During the promo, Tommy points out that if she fails, it will mean another woman won’t get to do the job for 20 years. And there is an element of truth in this.

However, the show could go too far on pushing a point that females can do the same jobs as men. There’s a risk of alienating part of the traditional TV crime drama audience. There’s also the risk of overlooking other things that make the lead character special. There’s one New Year’s Resolution the series should make.

The show: Tommy

The resolution: Don’t forget other things that make the lead character special

Why it needs to be made: It would be easy to fall into the trap of constantly focusing on the fact that this lead character is the first female in her job. However, that’s not all she has going for her. And just by looking at the character’s personality in the trailer, it’s not something she’d constantly want bringing up.

There’s a lot of pressure on her. If she fails, it sets women back for the next 20 years. It’s a common issue for women in male-dominated areas. This is even a problem when it comes to movies. If a man fails, it just means someone else is needed. If it woman fails, it proves that women can’t do the job they were given the chance to.

So, she does have a lot of pressure on, and that’s why we can’t just focus on her being a woman. After all, there are some big reasons why she was chosen for this job. It wasn’t just to make the role slightly more diverse than it has been in the past. It was because she was the most qualified for the job.

What makes her special and qualified? Why was she chosen and not another man for the role? What makes others respect her position of authority, even those who wouldn’t usually want to see a woman in the role? We need to see the show focus on all the qualities that make Tommy an excellent Chief of Police.
