We’re ending the month of New Year’s Resolutions with something for all TV crime dramas out there. We need something completely new and groundbreaking.

It’s the last day of our New Year’s Resolutions, and it only seems right to focus on TV crime dramas as a whole. Many dramas are starting to become repetitive and stale. It’s easy to guess where storylines are going, no matter how much we love them.

We need something completely new and groundbreaking. It’s time for something like what CSI and Criminal Minds brought when they first started.

The show: All TV crime dramas

The resolution: Give us something groundbreaking

Why it needs to be made: When it comes to TV crime dramas, it can be easy to guess the storylines. Writers start to run out of ideas and repurpose old plots. They throw the same red herrings throughout the episodes, but it ends up easy to guess which storylines are the red herrings and which parts of the story are the real deal.

More from TV Crime Dramas

We need something new and refreshing. Many of the great TV crime dramas in the U.S. are coming to an end. We’ve already lost CSI and now Criminal Minds is coming to an end. NCIS probably won’t be too far behind, and neither with Law & Order: SVU. After all, everything good needs to come to an eventual end, right?

But something needs to replace these shows. There are a few attempting to do that. We have Prodigal Son on FOX that has already offered some different storylines, especially when it comes to Malcolm’s past. However, it’s just one in a long list of current TV crime dramas.

There are attempts with the likes of Killing Eve and The Sinner, but they’re not getting the same amount of attention as those on primetime networks. They are still growing and they certainly show other TV crime dramas the type of things viewers would like to see.

Britain offers slightly more in terms of refreshing and groundbreaking. We just have to look at the likes of SherlockBroadchurch, and even Shetland to see the types of shows that capture the attention of the views. The FallMarcella, and The Missing also show writers the type of TV crime dramas that are popular.

It’s time for a new story, something exciting that gives us a new type of drama. We need something that grips us and leaves us with new thoughts on how the world of crime dramas can progress. And this is certainly something the world wants. We just have to see how the new standard crime dramas are faring to get a sense of what viewers don’t want.
