Prodigal Son Season 1, Episode 13 preview: Wait & Hope

Malcolm just can’t stay away from the office in Prodigal Son Season 1, Episode 13. Here’s what to expect and how to watch the episode live.

Did you really think that Malcolm would actually take time off? After 12 episodes, you had to get the idea that this is a man who can’t not work. And I completely understand him. Now it’s time to get ready for Prodigal Son Season 1, Episode 13.

Malcolm is back on a case, despite him being told to take time off. Gil wants him rested, but this is Malcolm. He’s only “rested” when he’s working. His job is a coping mechanism, as he mentioned during his evaluation during the last episode. But that doesn’t make it a bad thing, does it? I don’t feel useful if I’m not working.

And in “Wait & Hope,” Malcolm is drawn into the case for one reason: the murderer is enacting scenes from The Count of Monte Cristo. Unsurprisingly, it’s Malcolm’s favorite childhood book, so he will feel a need to be part of this case on a personal level and not just on a work level.

We also get to see Malcolm and Dani spend some time together. The killings are tracked back to members of high society and that means attending a lavish party. The two will head undercover together, and I love the idea of more Dani screentime. Each character on Prodigal Son has great qualities for different reasons, but I need to know more about Dani and JT.

They won’t be the only ones at the party, either. Jessica manages to get an invite, and she’s ready to head back into the world of the New York elite!

"Malcolm takes a detour from his mandated vacation time when he finds out a killer on the loose is mimicking homicides from one his favorite children’s books, “The Count of Monte Cristo.” With added help from a very excited Martin Whitly, the NYPD trace the case back to a high society family planning one of the biggest weddings of the season, so Malcolm and Dani get dressed up to attend the event and track down their culprit. Meanwhile, Jessica scores an invite herself and is eager to make her return to the New York elite."
