MacGyver Season 4 premiere synopsis: Meet Russ Taylor
Are you ready to meet the newest cast member to join MacGyver? Henry Ian Cusick appears off the bat in the MacGyver Season 4 premiere with a mission.
Missing Mac and the gang? It feels like forever since we’ve seen what they’ve been up to, but that’s all about to change. The MacGyver Season 4 premiere airs tomorrow, and it’s time to meet Russ Taylor.
Russ is an ex-MI6 agent played by the awesome Henry Ian Cusick. You’ll know him as Desmond on LOST or Kane on The 100, but either way, you will agree that he’s going to be an awesome and energetic addition to the series. And how does he start off the season? By getting the gang back together, of course.

He turns to Mac, Riley, Matty, Bozer, and Desi to get the Phoenix Foundation members back together. You see, he needs the best and he knows they are it. When you see the promo, you know that he wasn’t wrong. MacGyver is back to, well, MacGyvering everything. He has some of the craziest of plans but they are all well-thought through. Well, most of the time, right?
The question is whether he and the gang will be able to hunt down the bioweapon that is going to be used to bring a devastating attack on one of the U.S.’s major cities. On top of that, nobody even knows what the organization is that’s going to do it.
See, it’s no wonder Russ Taylor needs the Phoenix Foundation members!
The only big change to this season is that Jack won’t be back. George Eads left in Season 3 under not so great circumstances, and that’s it for him. Russ is in to fill that gap.
