Tommy Season 1, Episode 2 is here tonight. Don’t miss a beat of LA’s first Chief of Police tackle the latest situations facing her department.

CBS is no stranger to police procedurals. In fact, most of the top shows on the network involve the TV crime drama in some way. So, is it really that much of a surprise that Tommy is one the network wants to see succeed? Now it’s time to catch the second episode of the series.

I’ll admit the first episode was a little lackluster. It didn’t quite have the punch that other TV crime dramas have had on the network recently. As it tackled the situation of the first female Chief of Police, it also tackled immigration. Tommy spent her time in the first episode trying to reunite a child with her mother and manage the ICE situation, but things just didn’t quite click.

But I always give a new TV show two or three episodes to get into things. The pilot is used to sell to the network. The second episode is used to sell to us. That’s why this week’s episode is so important.

Tommy Season 1, Episode 2 will see a police officer turning up dead. Our new Chief of Police needs to keep order in the ranks as her team investigates the death and finds the suspect.

One thing we can also expect is more between Tommy and Kate. During the last episode, Kate made her feelings towards her mother clear. There’s a lot of bad blood, but it’s clear that both always want to mend fences and find a way to be in each others’ lives. This is going to be an ongoing storyline for the season, I suspect.

Meanwhile, the episode will see Mayor Buddy Gray and Deputy Mayor Doug Dudik manage a problem of their own. During the premiere, Arturo Lopez was arrested, but he has information about Buddy and possibly Doug, which could cause an end to their political careers.
