Will Prodigal Son finally reveal what Martin Whitly did with the Girl in the Box?

Martin Whitly spent the previous episode of Prodigal Son running through events of the past. Could it finally lead to what he did to the Girl in the Box?

Since the beginning of Prodigal Son, we’ve had questions about the Girl in the Box. For a while, we were left wondering whether this girl was even real, but Malcolm soon realized that she definitely was. Now we needed to know what Martin did to the girl after he drugged Malcolm.

Throughout Episode 15, Martin Whitly relived his final victim. It started off as a nightmare for him, as the woman escaped her actual fate and was able to hurt him. She then went after a young Malcolm. However, Martin soon remembered that this was his dream and he was able to take control.

We knew that Prodigal Son wouldn’t kill Martin off. There are just way too many questions that need to be answered. One of those is what he did to the Girl in the Box. It’s something the show is still to reveal.

Will that happen in the next episode? In the promo, Martin made it clear that he will only tell the police what Malcolm and Jessica want him to say if they do one thing for him. Could this be linked to the Girl in the Box? Did he just temporarily deal with the body but know that it could crop up at some point? With Paul dealt with, is there a chance that the body could be found by the police after all these years?

Maybe there is something in his former room that had been closed up for so long that has some sort of clue to who the woman is. A man like Martin may have kept his notes on all his victims, something that was well hidden but now he wants to avoid cropping up accidentally.

After 20+ years, it seems odd that he’d be worried about the Girl in the Box after all this time. However, Jessica probably brought up the case for him; put it back at the forefront of his mind. For years, the police thought Malcolm had been mistaken. Now the police know that there’s a 24th victim out there and Martin possibly wants to cover his tracks.

The hallucinations will have also brought the entire situation back up. We still don’t know how much time went between Malcolm finding the Girl in the Box to Martin being arrested. It could have been a matter of days or weeks rather than months, which may not have given Martin the time he would have preferred. Now he needs someone to handle things for him after all this time.

He has the perfect leverage over his wife and son right now. Will they go through with something that helps cover things up?

Sadly, it’s going to take some time to find out. Prodigal Son is going on an extended break, but there’s hope we’ll get some answers about this Girl in the Box very soon.
