Nancy Grace, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelos on Oxygen’s true crime slate
Oxygen is expanding its true crime programming this fall by renewing Injustice with Nancy Grace and adding Mark Consuelos and Kelly Ripa to the fold.
Oxygen is adding some more star power to its true crime roster for 2020, with Nancy Grace, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos all having TV shows on the way.
The biggest news is that Oxygen has renewed Grace’s latest show, Injustice with Nancy Grace, for a second season. As the title indicates, each episode of Injustice with Nancy Grace focuses on one specific case where injustice has been done—whether it’s a killer going free or a flaw in the legal system.
Grace has been a frequent fixture in the true crime world for decades, whether from her self-titled HLN series Nancy Grace (2005-2016) to more recently co-hosting A&E’s Grace vs. Abrams with Live PD host Dan Abrams. Her novels are also the basis for Lifetime’s Hailey Dean Mysteries series of TV-movies.

Joining Nancy Grace on the network are Ripa and Consuelos, who are executive producers on a new series called Exhumed, which focuses on cases where the exhumation of a body is the key to solving the crime.
Consuelos (Riverdale) and Ripa (Live with Kelly and Ryan) executive produce alongside Albert Bianchini and Wendy Greene. Christopher Sgueglia is co-executive producer on the series, which doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
“As die-hard true crime fans, we are thrilled to be partnering with Oxygen on Exhumed,” Ripa and Consuelos said in a press release. “We cannot wait to dig into these fascinating cases and showcase how exhumations have been crucial in solving crimes and bringing closure to families across America.”
Unlike Nancy Grace, the real-life spouses are just producing their show; they’re not hosting it or appearing on screen. But their involvement, and the renewal of Grace’s series, are examples of how Oxygen has been able to strengthen its true crime brand through association with known names.
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star Ice-T hosts a series appropriately titled In Ice Cold Blood, which returned for a new season last month. Multiple other series on the network are produced by Dick Wolf.
We’re seeing the network distinguish itself by not just presenting true crime stories, but giving viewers an immediate and recognizable hook with a name that they know, whether it’s on or off camera.
