Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 17 won’t air for a month but that doesn’t mean we can’t break down the promo. Here’s what we can expect when it returns.

Nancy Drew is heading off on a break for a month off the back of that answer-filled episode. We got way more than we bargained for, but right now we want to look ahead at the things to come in Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 17.

Fair warning, there are going to be some spoilers from Episode 16. If you haven’t seen “The Haunting of Nancy Drew” yet, you’ll want to catch up before looking into the promo for the next episode.

Here’s a look at the promo for Episode 17, titled “The Girl in the Locket,” so you get a sense of the things that will be happening. We’ll then immediately get into the five biggest takeaways from the episode.

5. Ryan is determined to understand

More from Nancy Drew News

Ryan knows that there are still things he doesn’t know about Lucy. He feels a lot of guilty for everything that his family did. They made Lucy seem like a socialite wannabe, but instead, she and Ryan genuinely loved each other. Their baby—Nancy—was one made from love even if the birth was around some horrible circumstances.

Now Ryan wants to understand everything about Lucy. He needs to know why she died, especially since her murder wasn’t actually a murder after all.

4. The show may break the fourth wall

There’s a quick clip in the promo of Kennedy McCann looking directly at the camera. This is something actors are never supposed to do. However, a few TV shows have opted for it, allowing for some fourth-wall-breaking. Supernatural is the one that breaks the fourth wall the most, although Boston Legal certainly stepped over that line.

Will Nancy Drew break the fourth wall? Maybe!

3. Nancy and Carson need to deal with the truth

This isn’t quite gained from the promo, but it’s clear that Nancy is dealing with a lot. She found out that she’s not Nancy Drew at all. She’s Nancy Sable. The Drews adopted her and pretended that they were her parents for Lucy’s (and Nancy’s) sake.

However, there is a quick glimpse of Carson in the promo for Nancy Drew Season 1, Episode 17. It doesn’t look like they’ve patched things up yet after all the secrets that were revealed.

2. The hauntings don’t seem to have stopped

By the looks of things, Lucy is still haunting Nancy. Is this because Lucy wants the full truth to be revealed? Are there still some secrets still hidden?

Of course, this could link back to the toll that still hasn’t been paid. Maybe the sea spirits are back with a vengeance. After all, a new mystery is needed since both Lucy’s and Tiffany’s murders have been solved.

1. Ryan may find out the truth about Nancy

Ryan needs to know why Nancy is the one being haunted. Why did Lucy cling to the young Drew girl this whole time? We now know that it was biological, but Ryan is still yet to find out that Nancy is his daughter.

This is certainly going to throw Ryan for a loop. Will he find out in Episode 17? He deserves to, doesn’t he?
