The Rookie Season 2, Episode 14 brings a Dark Matter twist to the series. Roger Cross guest stars, and here’s how to watch the episode live.

Melissa O’Neil will likely feel at home when Cross turned up on set. After all, they did spend three seasons of their SYFY show together. While that show certainly deserved a fourth season, it’s good to see O’Neil grab another show off the back of it, and it’s always fun to see a guest star or two now and then.

The episode brings a slightly darker twist than the usual fun and games the dramedy usually offers. Officers Nolan and Harper need to investigate a murder that turns out to have a black ops operative involved. It’s a matter of national security, but the two can’t just let this murder investigation be swept under the carpet.

Meanwhile, Bradford needs to deal with his past. When he comes across a homeless vet, it sounds like he starts to think back to what his life could have been like. He’s certainly been fortunate to land a job that he has, and it’s no wonder this means the world to him.

This type of episode could be just what the show needs. We saw with the winter premiere that viewers are interested in these higher-stake episodes. Could this be the start of more of these types of episodes?
