Agent Roundtree experienced an explosive episode of NCIS: LA. Will he join the team permanently or was that the only episode with him?
NCIS: LA brought in some new blood to the team during Season 11, Episode 19. Agent Roundtree got to experience his first day on the job, and it was anything but boring. Will he become a permanent part of the team?
We know that Sam is trying to get more young people interested in the job. This has been a focus for some time, which is when Roundtree was initially introduced. It was only a matter of time before this new recruit got to experience his first day on the job.

There’s been no talk of Roundtree joining the team permanently just yet. At the same time, this didn’t seem like just a one-off. It’s like an attempt to bring in new blood on a more permanent basis, and Roundtree wasn’t scared off by the end of the episode. In fact, he was enjoying a beer with the whole team.
Right now, actor Caleb Castille isn’t listed to play Roundtree on NCIS: LA again. That doesn’t mean he’s not coming back, though. It just means that Castille hasn’t been officially confirmed to list the appearances on the IMDb profile.
We’ve got to remember that we have just a handful of episodes left of the season. The finale is airing much sooner than we anticipated and episodes that had been planned haven’t been filmed due to the coronavirus pandemic. There is a chance that there was an episode planned that would bring Roundtree back.
He could be a great team member
With questions about Nell leaving the team, it could be time to bring in some fresh blood to the series. There haven’t been too many changes over the year. In fact, it’s one of just a small number of shows with the majority of its original cast still intact.
There’s always room for another character on a show like NCIS: LA. Sometimes, I think having just a small team is difficult to manage multiple storylines that can happen, which is often the case with this series. Plus, it’s time to bring in more agents that do get the ways of the kids, especially if Nell is going to leave.
Even if Nell isn’t going to leave, the show has found a way to manage multiple characters. During the previous episode, Callen was only in at the beginning before heading off on vacation. Bringing in an extra character would allow actors to step away for an episode or so, lightening the grueling schedule.
Of course, right now, we’re assuming NCIS: LA will be renewed for a 12th season. It’s highly unlikely that CBS will cancel the show, especially the pilots aren’t filming right now, but it is important to note there isn’t an official renewal just yet.
