The possibility of the ambush in the penultimate episode comes from the main case. The team will need to help a former NCIS tech operator. Her ex-partner has gone missing, and there’s a strong chance that he could be working with the enemy. That means Kensi and Fatima could end up walking into a trap, and the promo certainly makes it look like that’s possible.

Meanwhile, there are two storylines happening. The first continues Callen’s storyline with Anna. Now that the two have enjoyed their first vacation together, Callen is ready to set down some roots with her. It’s something he wants to talk to Sam about.
Will Sam be a little more receptive to the talk compared to the conversation in the previous episode? Sam was certainly not interested in hearing about Callen’s vacation.
Meanwhile, Deeks get a storyline. Hopefully, the boot from his broken big toe is off. He may just end up needing it if Kensi leaves a few more things lying around the bar! That will be the least of his concerns, though.
The bar gets a negative review online. Is there a chance that Deeks will want Eric to figure out who left the review so he can hunt them down? That almost seems like a Deeks thing to do.
