The episode comes off the back of a dark but important story. “Stigma” focused on police suicide, as the team realized that their former leader, Buck, was planning to kill himself. Not only did this episode open up a conversation about police suicide but it also gave Deacon a chance to be honest during a therapy session. Hopefully, there is more to come of this to prove that talking isn’t weakness.

Back to the focus of SWAT Season 3, Episode 19, we’re looking at something from Tan’s past coming back to haunt him. At least one convict from his past wants him dead. Naturally, there’s no way that Hondo and the team will let that happen. They will all do everything it takes to protect Tan.

Meanwhile, Chris will arrest a young man. However, that man is given a free pass due to who his father is. It’s a case of internal corruption, and Chris needs to decide whether she will just stand by and let it happen or take steps to see internal corruption come to an end. It isn’t the first time a cop drama has focused on corruption within the police force and it certainly won’t be the last. Just what could it do for Chris’s career?

Finally, Winnie is in town. It’s always fun to see April Parker Jones back in the story, but what is she coming to see Hondo about now? Whatever it is, it puts pressure on his relationship with Nichelle. Is it time for the two of them to take things to the next level?
