What’s next after Burden of Truth Season 3, Episode 2

Burden of Truth has wasted no time in thickening the plot. Season 3, Episode 2 gave us the emergency hearing that didn’t quite go as planned. Here are the questions we have moving forward.

We didn’t think everything was going to go Joanna’s way, did we? Based on the trailer for the season alone, it was clear that there was a much bigger fight to come. Someone is sabotaging things, because I’m sure that Kodie is telling the truth.

Kodie’s story isn’t the only one to focus on. Luna is worried about Taylor, who is MIA, while Billy has a secret that he’s trying to keep from Joanna. Here are the big questions after Burden of Truth Season 3, Episode 2.

Who is sabotaging Kodie?

I do believe that Kodie is telling the truth about being sober. She was too confident in offering up her drug test, and only people who know they can pass it are that confident. That means someone has sabotaged the results.

Who would do something like that? Is it something to do with her ex-mother-in-law? Something to do with her cousin? What about Mercer? There are too many players right now to make a definite guess.

Why is Billy so sure Kodie is telling the truth?

More from TV Crime Dramas

Billy was far too certain that Kodie is lying about being sober. Finding the drugs confirmed to him that Kodie is lying and is a danger to her kids, but why is he so certain about this. A lot of things don’t add up with the drugs being in the wind chime. I go back to her being so confident in passing the drug test.

Right now, it’s clear that Joanna and Billy’s judgments are clouded by the past. Joanna is holding onto nostalgia and a sense of duty while Billy has his negative memories of Kodie. If he wants to win this case, he needs to leave the judgment at the door.

Why does Joanna feel like she owes Kodie?

Joanna keeps saying that she owes Kodie for something in the past. It seems to be something involving the lake, and there’s a moment in the promo for Burden of Truth Season 3 that suggests Joanna may have fallen in. Did Kodie literally save her life?

Or is there something more to this story? Hopefully, it won’t take too long to delve into this.

Where is Taylor?

Luna spent the whole episode trying to figure out where Taylor is. The last we saw, Taylor had gone out to face the guy in the red car. She isn’t responding to text messages or calls, which suggests that something may have happened to her.

Is she in some sort of danger? Will this put Luna in danger?

When will Joanna take the pregnancy test?

Finally, let’s talk about that pregnancy test. During the premiere episode, Joanna pulled it out but didn’t use it. She’s done it again at the cabin. It’s clear she thinks she could be pregnant, but it’s like she doesn’t want to admit this to herself. Not taking the test gives her a chance to pretend that she may not be pregnant after all.

So, at what point will she take the test? Will Billy find the test before she even gets a chance to take it?
