Burden of Truth Season 3, Episode 3 left us with these questions
Throughout Burden of Truth Season 3, Episode 3, Joanna tried another way to get Kodie her children back. At the same time, she had an offer that she may not be able to refuse. It’s time to break down the big questions.
This was an episode that certainly painted Kodie in a bad light. We have to remember that she admits to having a drug problem in the past. There’s a reason she’s proud of being 18 months sober and why she can’t legally drive a car. However, people can and do change.
I want to believe that Kodie has changed. The problem is, she may not be willing to work with the legal system. Here are my top five questions after watching the episode.
Will Joanna take the hedge fund offer?
Joanna’s firm needs money. There’s no doubt about that. The problem is she can’t get money from the cases she’s taken.

Now she has the offer of a hedge fund case. Well, to just be the legal representative for all issues and to make sure contracts are covered. As someone who knows corporate law, this would be perfect for her. You can tell that she wants to sort out the financial stress as well as having a successful firm.
She’d be best taking the client. That doesn’t stop her from taking on cases that matter the most to her.
Will Luna seek help for her PTSD?
Luna is clearly suffering from PTSD after her time in jail. The problem is I don’t think she realized it until it came to being patted down. I love that she said stop, was listened to, and then was able to take a breath and continue with being patted down. That showed that she now has control, which she wouldn’t have done as an inmate.
However, Luna is going to need help with PTSD. She’s going to have to go through this again if she wants a career in law. Now that she knows she’s suffering from it, it’s time to talk to someone about her experiences and trauma.
What will happen to Taylor?
Taylor was watching Gary Mitchell throughout the episode. He caught her though, making it clear that he knows she’s following him.
However, Taylor is putting herself in a dangerous position. She’s threatening to tell his wife about his secret. Gary isn’t just going to back down. Men like that don’t. Instead, they use their power to take out the threat.
This could put Taylor’s life at risk. She needs to tell someone else about Gary now so that someone will notice if she goes missing or is hurt.
Why exactly does Joanna feel like she owes Kodie?
Joanna keeps saying that she’s helping Kodie because Joanna owes her. Okay, it sounded like Kodie physically saved Joanna’s life, but the flashback doesn’t suggest that at all. In fact, it suggests that Kodie helped Joanna run away.
What exactly did Joanna need from Kodie? How did Kodie help and what was Joanna running from? And why doesn’t Kodie believe this is so important 20 years later?

Who took the children?
Right now, Kodie seems like the obvious suspect. She’s the one with the most motive to take the children from school. Angry that the system is too slow and is working against her, she would likely feel like this is her only option.
But let’s not rule out the possibility that Marlene has taken them. She wants her granddaughter, so she could have snatched both after they were taken from her thanks to Joanna’s snooping. Of course, Marlene only wants one of the grandchildren, True, but she could take both just to make it look like it’s Kodie.
I do think Kodie is the one who’s taken the children though. It makes the most sense.
