The Sinner season 3 gets DVD release, but no Blu-Ray release
The Sinner season 3 is available on DVD, but not Blu-Ray.
You can now get The Sinner season 3 DVD, but if you’re looking for The Sinner season 3 Blu-Ray, fans of the TV crime drama are out of luck.
The third season of the series, featuring Matt Bomer (White Collar, Doom Patrol) as the latest suspect for Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) to investigate, is now available on Amazon.
In season 3, Ambrose looks into a fatal car accident in upstate New York that involves Bomer’s character Jamie Burns, and ends up uncovering Jamie’s very dark secrets. Chris Messina (Sharp Objects, The Newsroom), Parisa Fitz-Henley (Jessica Jones) and Jessica Hecht also star.
However, the season is only being released on DVD.

Why isn’t The Sinner season 3 on Blu-Ray?
Fans of the show may be confused as to why there isn’t a The Sinner season 3 Blu-Ray.
Universal Pictures Home Entertainment had previously released both season 1 and season 2 on Blu-Ray. However, they’ve chosen not to do that this season.
There’s no official reason why—but the most common reason why TV shows stop being released on Blu-Ray is low sales. It’s probable that not enough people bought the first two seasons for the studio to justify making a third BD set.
People who are looking for a high-definition release can go digital and purchase the season from Amazon Video, which has all eight episodes in HD for $19.99 (as of this writing).
The Sinner season 3 DVD release date and special features
For those who do want the physical copy, the DVD set of season 3 has already been released. You can order it on Amazon.
This appears to be a manufacture-on-demand (MOD) release, because the Amazon product page shows a delay in shipping (“ships within 10 days”). What MOD means is that the company makes the discs to order—and usually that the show has lower sales, because copies are only made as needed or in smaller batches, rather than the mass quantities for regular retail.
For example, season 2 of The Sinner is listed on Amazon as “Universal MOD,” which means that the sales for the first season probably weren’t great either.
Unfortunately, with titles that go this route, there are little if any special features. None are listed on the product page for the third season, suggesting that no bonuses are included on the DVD. So if you want to own the latest season, Amazon Video is your best bet.
The Sinner season 3 is now available on DVD through Amazon and digitally through Amazon Video.
