Longmire season 1 ($9.99)

Longmire was a cult hit when it premiered on A&E, so much so that Netflix picked up the show for an additional three seasons after it was cancelled. It’s another one of the TV crime dramas based on mystery series (the Walt Longmire novels by Craig Johnson) and it expertly combines standard crime-solving with the Western genre.

More from TV Crime Dramas

The show has an incredible cast, led by Robert Taylor as the title character. Katee Sackhoff (Another Life, Battlestar Galactica), Cassidy Freeman (The Righteous Gemstones, Smallville), Bailey Chase (Saving Grace) and Lou Diamond Phillips are also in the regular lineup. Guest stars included Ally Walker (Profiler), Tantoo Cardinal (Stumptown) and Callum Keith Rennie (The Firm).

Lots of genre shows come from books, but Longmire truly feels like a novel on the screen. If you’re a fan of TV crime dramas like Justified, this series needs to be on your watchlist.

Good Behavior season 1 ($9.99)

Before Michelle Dockery starred in Defending Jacob she ventured into the land of TV crime dramas for this TNT series from the creator of Wayward Pines. Dockery’s character Letty Raines is trying to live a normal life after serving her prison term (hence the title), but naturally things keep pulling the allegedly reformed con artist back into the game.

Juan Diego Botto (the upcoming The Suicide Squad) co-starred as Javier, Letty’s former partner in crime. In the first season, the duo dealt with Javier’s family, Letty trying to be a parent to her son despite a restraining order, and getting her mom out of jail on Mom’s wedding day. Crime drama is just one part of this show, which is a bit like In Plain Sight in that sense.

Father Brown seasons 1-7 ($9.99/season)

If you want something a little longer to sink your teeth into, Amazon has put the first seven series of Father Brown on sale. The 2013 show features Mark Williams (Harry Potter) as a crime-solving priest in the 1950’s, and it’s a bit different from other British TV crime dramas because it’s meant as a daytime drama, not a primetime serial.

Father Brown deals with incompetent police, a recurring nemesis, and church business, usually all in the same episode. Fans of shows like Grantchester and Midsomer Murders will enjoy this show, if you haven’t already seen it—considering the series is preparing for its ninth season in 2021.
