That black dog remains a bad omen for Jenny on Coroner

Jenny Cooper on Coroner is a kind soul. During the most recent episode, she saw a young girl was struggling and looked for a way to help her. Sadly, things haven’t quite worked out the way Jenny hoped.

Needing to head out with Detective McAvoy for the case, Jenny left Amanda with someone who could look out for her. Amanda had just turned in a gun belonging to her boyfriend’s friend that could have been used in a murder. Needless to say, Amanda’s life was in danger.

Instead of accepting the help, Amanda decided to follow her heart and went to visit her boyfriend. We were left with Amanda realizing that the friend, Storm, was in the car. It’s clear that she’s in danger.

Jenny will likely blame herself

Jenny took Amanda’s plight relatively personal. She wanted to make sure this young girl was safe from harm. Now, Amanda is outside in the world with two boys who are likely going to want to hurt her.

Judging by the promo for the next episode, Jenny and McAvoy are going to be too late getting to her. It looks like she may be their next victim, and Jenny could take this hard. It’s clear that this black dog that keeps popping up is some sort of omen of death, telling Jenny that someone is in trouble. She just needs to figure out what it really means.

It’s not Jenny’s fault, but she is struggling with her own mental health. The grief of her husband and anger towards his actions that led to them moving out of their home is building. The good thing is Jenny is getting help for that, but will she be able to talk about this case to her therapist? Is she even allowed? She’s going to need to so she doesn’t allow the thoughts of her being able to do more to take over.

Coroner’s Jenny is an inspirational character

When we see strong-willed women, they usually act tough. That’s especially the case on TV in recent years. They’re Mama Bear types.

That’s fine, but not every woman is like that. Jenny is still a strong woman, but she doesn’t seem it on the outside. She looks small, she doesn’t overpower a room, and she’s one of the kindest people looking for ways to help.

Her toughest moment has been standing up to a man who thought he knew better just to make his job easier. However, that didn’t come easy as she’s working on herself mentally and emotionally. She’s finding her power within, giving us a sometimes flawed but inspirational woman. I just hope this won’t be too much of a setback for her.
