There are a few questions after the first season finale. The main storylines were wrapped up, but there are a few character development questions for the second season. Here’s everything we know about Coroner Season 2 so far.
Coroner Season 2 release date
The CW is taking a week break from the Canadian TV crime drama. It’s really only to make sure the second season will premiere at the same time as the other “fall” shows. Coroner Season 2 will premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9/8c on The CW.
Season 3 of the series has started filming. CBC will get the series first. Will The CW air it? That’s to be seen. Right now, we need to get through the second season and see how the ratings are.
Coroner Season 2 cast
Serinda Swan will return as Jenny Cooper. Roger Cross will also return as Donovan McAvoy. The series wouldn’t be what it is without the two in the lead.

Coroner Season 2 synopsis
Coroner Season 2, Episode 1 is titled “Fire.” Jenny is pulled into an investigation of a fire in an apartment building. This apartment building turns out to be filled with low-income people, which is likely a motive of some sort. Jenny connects with a woman who has lost everything.
The characters will likely be dealing with the reveals of the truth during the Coroner Season 1 finale. That includes Jenny learning that she was responsible for her sister’s death.
McAvoy finally got the serial killer, but it wasn’t through the justice system. He had to shoot the killer to save Jenny. There are likely other killers released after Jenny’s decision to reopen Dr. Peterson’s cases. Will any of them come up in Season 2?
