Hawaii Five-0 complete series coming to DVD in December

The Hawaii Five-0 complete series DVD is coming soon.

With the Hawaii Five-0 reboot having wrapped up earlier this year, CBS is rolling out a complete series set for any TV crime drama fans who want all ten seasons at once.

Hawaii Five-0: The Complete Series has a street date of Dec. 8, 2020. CBS Home Entertainment hasn’t announced the price yet, and it will be DVD-only (no surprise since the show only had a few seasons released on Blu-Ray).

Special features, if any, have also yet to be confirmed. But the set will contain all 240 episodes that ran over the last decade.

The series starred Alex O’Loughlin (The Shield, Moonlight) taking over the role of Steve McGarrett, who returns to Oahu and heads up an elite task force.

O’Loughlin and Scott Caan, who portrayed Steve’s partner Danny Williams, were the only two cast members to remain for the entire series.

Original stars included Grace Park (A Million Little Things) and Daniel Dae Kim (The Good Doctor), while Ian Anthony Dale (Murder in the First) and Katrina Law (Arrow, Training Day) were among those who were made regulars later on.

Hawaii Five-0‘s extensive guest cast included Christine Lahti, Terry O’Quinn, Carol Burnett, Chris Vance, James Marsters, Nick Jonas and Mark Dacascos.

While it doesn’t seem like there’s going to be much new material on the upcoming complete series set, it may interest casual viewers who’ve waited to purchase episodes until they could get it in a single collection. CBS took a similar approach with Criminal Minds, releasing a complete collection after that show’s final season had reached DVD.

If you’re among those who didn’t catch any of the show while it aired this may also be a worthwhile blind buy for any TV crime drama fan’s collection. The reboot had several ways that it was superior to the original series, and the number of recognizable faces alone will keep viewers interested.

Plus, while the show has been in syndication it’s not seen in reruns very often, so this is a convenient way to have access to any episode (and might end up being cheaper than purchasing every season digitally). Keep an eye on this release as a potential Christmas gift for yourself or the crime drama enthusiast in your life.
