Syd and McKenna’s trust issues already seem resolved on LA’s Finest

LA’s Finest had to bring an end to the trust issues between the two leading ladies, but did it really have to happen three episodes in? It seems that may have been a little two fast and slightly unrealistic.

The episode focused a lot on the big story arc of the season. Knox continues to cause a problem without even being on screen, and it’s hard to tell if the new player in town is taking over or if she’s just a puppet. However, the episode came to an end with the trust issues between Syd and McKenna seemingly resolved.

Syd opened up about the drugs she has stolen. McKenna is shocked and hurt because of what’s happened to Ray, but deep down, she knows Syd did the right thing. The problem is there are a lot of people out for Syd and McKenna.

The trust issues should have gone on for another episode or so

I’m not usually one for these types of storylines playing out for too long. After a while, they get monotonous. In the real world, if trust issues go on for too long between a partnership, there would probably be requests for transfers.

However, these trust issues seem resolved a little too quickly. And it didn’t feel all that realistic. I don’t feel like the two women have even had a chance to properly get to know each other for Syd to show McKenna the suitcase of drugs.

Part of it does involve the case of the week element to “Con Air.” I usually love these parts of TV shows, giving it a clear way to split up episodes but keep an overall story going. The problem is the case of the week seems to take us back and forth between Syd and McKenna trusting each other and not trusting each other.

Are the trust issues really resolved on LA’s Finest?

There have been a lot of secrets and lies already. McKenna is torn between Syd and her past. We saw how she worried about those who helped her in the past, the anger about Ray’s death. However, as Syd points out, hundreds of people have been saved for (so far) one sacrifice.

But that’s one sacrifice so far. How many more people are going to be in danger? If Knox goes after those connected to McKenna, does that mean her family is in danger? That will certainly put trust on the line.

Maybe we’re not through the trust issues yet. LA’s Finest Episode 3 just made it look like we are.
