Hetty pulled Nell back into work in the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 premiere

NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 premiered on Sunday night, and it was just the return we need. It certainly had a socially distant feel to it, but it was still awesome to have our favorite characters back on our screens.

Even Nell was back. Hetty appeared virtually to ask Nell to take her place for the time being. Hetty is in some sort of war zone, somewhere Hetty doesn’t want to be, although we didn’t get to find out exactly where that is.

More from NCIS: LA News

The big thing to come from the scene is that Hetty isn’t necessarily going to let Nell quit. Sure, Hetty didn’t put up much of a fight when Nell said she wanted to leave during NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11, but it was clear Hetty was buying herself time to plan. Now it looks like we have her plan playing out.

Hetty wants Nell to see she can do this

I suspect Hetty has put Nell temporarily in charge to show Nell that this is where she needs to be. This is what Nell is good at, and she can make a huge difference while doing it.

It’s not an easy job. After a while, the deaths can get to people, and that seems to be the case for Nell. Putting Nell in charge gives her a little bit of control. Nell can see that she can make a difference and keep people safe, which is something that happened during the NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 premiere.

Will Nell stick around?

So, now is the question about whether Nell is staying or leaving.

During the episode, we found out what was really going on with Nell. Her mom was sick and Nell looked after her. Recently, her mom passed away, and now that Nell doesn’t have her mom keeping her occupied, she needs to figure out what to do with her life.

She’s still unsure. However, Hetty may be the one that helps Nell figure it out by putting her in charge.

By the end of the episode, Nell hasn’t made a decision. She’s sticking around for now because Hetty has asked her to. After that? We’ll have to wait and see.

Next. Why will NCIS: Los Angeles Season 12 only have 18 episodes?. dark
