Don’t miss the NCIS Season 18 premiere live on CBS tonight

Gibbs and the team are finally back in business. Don’t miss the NCIS Season 18 premiere live on CBS tonight.

The episode is taking us back in time a little. We’re going to a pre-COVID world to around December 2019. So there will be no mentions of the Season 17 finale in the episode.

More from NCIS News

Think back to the musician episode with the guy who was posioned. During that episode, Gibbs disappeared for a while and returned with a black eye, and the NCIS Season 18 premiere is going to address the matter. It will also introduce a new character for us to get to know before we lose Jack Sloane for good (however that may be).

The show will eventually catch up with COVID, which has to happen since NCIS: New Orleans is in the middle of it and NCIS: Los Angeles has gotten through it. That’s not going to be until early 2021, though.

What will happen on the NCIS Season 18 premiere

Fornell is back on the premiere episode. This is where Gibbs goes during that musician episode, as Fornell needs some help. Remember the overdose his daughter suffered? Well, Fornell is after the leader who supplied those drugs.

It’s not going to be an easy case. We’ll possibly see Fornell do a few things that he wouldn’t have been able to do as an FBI agent. This is one of the good things about Fornell now being a PI. He can cross the line sometimes in the name of justice. He just needs Gibbs to have his back.

Then there’s a problem with a missing cadaver from the autopsy room. Palmer is going to have to figure that out. Ducky is back in the episode, so hopefully, he’ll be able to offer some wise words.

We also have the introduction of Victoria Platt as Special Agent Veronica “Ronnie” Tyler. In the promos, she comes into the story as the mother of a missing boy. Torres and Gibbs will help her figure out where he is, but will it involve the drug dealer Fornell is after?

What’s not clear is whether Ronnie is just in this episode or will be back in the future. Will she take over Sloane’s place later in the season?

Check out the synopsis for the NCIS Season 18 premiere:
