The moments that made us go “WTF” on the NCIS Season 18 premiere

NCIS Season 18 premiered with a punch (literally). It’s time to breakdown the NCIS Season 18 premiere by looking at the biggest WTF moments.

The episode partly took place during the murder of the band member during NCIS Season 17. We finally got to know where Gibbs went and why he had the black eye. However, he didn’t stick with that case throughout the episode, helping Palmer figure out the case of the missing body from the morgue.

Gibbs shooting McGee

The episode started with McGee running toward a plane. Someone kept shooting at him, with one of the bullets hitting him in the leg.

The shot panned to the sniper aiming at an injured McGee. Gibbs made the shot, but why? We’ll have to wait to find out.

The missing body

More from NCIS News

Had it not been mentioned in the NCIS Season 18 premiere synopsis, we wouldn’t have expected a body to go missing from Palmer’s autopsy drawers. That sort of thing just doesn’t happen, so it was clear that there was something going on.

Palmer blamed himself. He was sure that he’d been the one to misplace the body, but we know Palmer too well to know that wasn’t the case.

Fornell screwing things up

The start of the NCIS Season 18 premiere picked up within the musical episode, so we finally got to know where Gibbs went and how he got that black eye. It was all thanks to Fornell.

He got a lead on his daughter’s dealer, the one who almost killed her. Of course, Fornell and Gibbs want to catch the guy and it leads to a stakeout.

As they think they have a chance, Fornell heads into a business to get a few clues. However, he sees a young girl that’s very much like his daughter and almost screws up the case. Don’t let a case get personal!

Palmer’s car blowing up

As Palmer confessed the missing body to Gibbs, he didn’t think too much of the bigger situation. He was still sure it was his fault. However, it soon became clear that there was a case.

Palmer unlocked his car and it caused an explosion. Someone wanted Palmer dead, and yes, it was linked to the dead body. And so we got into the big case of the week.

The agent who had checked in the body, Tyler, had taken it after her daughter had been kidnapped by the murderer. With Gibbs, Torres, and the rest of the team on the case, everyone finally found out who the murderer was and why. They also found Tyler’s daughter.

Will everything be forgotten about, though? It’s easy to understand why she took the body, but it still went against everything.

Fornell asks for two weeks

The ending to the NCIS Season 18 premiere picks back up with Fornell. There are a dead man and cops on their way. Fornell called the police, which is why he has to act fast.

At the end, he asks Gibbs for two weeks. Does that mean we’ll find out what happens in two weeks’ time?
