Law & Order has another new episode this week, Thursday, April 6, that puts the detectives up against a deadly cult.
The series made up for their long break through March with an episode that put Price right in the middle of a case. He found a public defender stabbed to death in a park, making him a witness to the crime.
The search eventually led to a judge who’d been having an affair with the woman. The detectives arrested him and despite the blatant conflict of interest, Price handled the prosecution. That caused problems when the defense attorney put Price on the stand to have him admit he’d had a relationship with the woman too and was accused of the murder himself.
Eventually, the jury found the judge guilty, but both McCoy and Maroun were upset at Price for keeping all this quiet and marring the case. Hopefully, he avoids such issues with this week’s edition.
Check out a promo and synopsis for Law & Order Season 22, Episode 18
“Collateral Damage” opens with the detectives finding a woman dead of a terrible infection brought about by someone branding a symbol on her skin. That leads them to discover a dangerous cult of women bonding against them.
It’s likely the search for the cult’s leader involves some more twists and turns and the challenge of getting these women to talk, which should make this a dramatic episode for Law & Order.
"“When a young woman dies a slow and painful death from an untreated infection, Cosgrove and Shaw suspect she was under the influence of a powerful cult. Price and Maroun put pressure on its members to find the cult’s true mastermind.”"
