With the way FBI: International Season 2 ended, we need to know if there’s more to the story. Will there be a third season on CBS, or is the show canceled?
Things looked great for the Fly Team in the Season 2 finale. They saved the day and got the Russian missile back in the right hands. It was only at the very end when it was clear there was still a threat.
Raines was outside with Tank when he saw something suspicious and called Forrester. Sure enough, it was something suspicious. As Raines ran back to the building (telling Tank to stay back so we know he’s okay), the building blew up with everyone else inside. Will we lose any characters?
We need a third season to find out. The question is whether that’s going to happen or not.
Is FBI: International Season 3 happening?
When renewals and cancellations were being announced this year, you may have noticed that the entire FBI franchise was missing. Does that mean bad news?
It actually means good news. All three Dick Wolf shows were renewed for two seasons back in May 2022. We knew FBI: International Season 3 was happening back then, and so did the writers. They knew they would have time to bring a resolution to the Season 2 finale cliffhanger, and that’s why it was written that way. It certainly has us ready to tune in already.
So, when will we get the premiere? This is anyone’s guess right now. We know CBS plans to keep Tuesdays the same in the fall, but there aren’t any scripts ready to film. The writers are on strike, and until that strike ends, production can’t start. There isn’t an end in sight for the strike just yet as the production studios still aren’t talking to each other to bring a deal to the writers.
FBI: International is available to stream on Paramount+.
