When a series is released on Netflix, we don’t usually expect to see it come to DVD and Blu-ray. Netflix likes to keep its content exclusive to its own platform. Well, A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 1 has a DVD release date, and we’re excited.
It’s likely the fact that A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder is a UK production. As you start looking at other UK Netflix shows, such as The Crown and The Last Kingdom, you’ll see that they are eventually released on DVD and Blu-ray. It just takes a while, and that’s what has happened with A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 1, which was released on Netflix back in July 2024.

We have to wait around 13 months from the release of the series on Netflix. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder season 1 will be released on DVD on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
In some even better news, it’s not just the DVD release. While a lot of TV shows are now only being released in this lower-quality format, this Netflix series is getting a Blu-ray release as well. This is great for those who want to view the show in a similar format to that of Netflix.
But why get the series on DVD and Blu-ray when you get watch it whenever you want on Netflix? Well, what if you get rid of your Netflix subscription? How are you going to watch it then? Plus, we have seen streaming platforms get rid of some of their content, and the only way to enjoy it is via DVD. With some shows not getting that type of release, the content disappears in obscurity. You don’t own the content when it’s on a streaming platform, but you can own the DVD and Blu-ray, and watch it whenever you want.
