CBS is the first of the broadcast networks to announce fall premiere dates. That means we’re ready for the likes of NCIS, FBI, and much more to return. It also means getting ready for some new shows to premiere.

While there are many shows on the network, we’re only focusing on the crime dramas. The great news is that much of the fall schedule looks like last year’s, although there are a couple of exceptions.

Most of the premiere dates are in October. There are just a couple to make a close note of, because while the shows premiere on a particular date, they will move to other timeslots later on, as they’re getting special premieres to boost the ratings for them.

Friends
“Friends” – Matty helps Olympia take on Elijah’s cousin’s wrongful termination case. Also, Edwin worries that the longer Matty remains at Jacobson Moore, the more she puts herself in danger of being caught, on MATLOCK, Thursday, Jan. 30 (9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*. Notable dates and times for Matlock, Elsbeth, and Sheriff Country

Let’s start with some of the notable dates. While Matlock and Elsbeth will be part of the Thursday night lineup, the two shows are getting special premieres.

Matlock season 2 and Elsbeth season 3 will both premiere on Sunday, Oct. 12 with special sneak peeks of their episodes. This is to time with the NFL on CBS doubleheader, which is scheduled to end at 7:30 p.m. ET. There will be an episode of 60 Minutes, and then CBS will air Matlock and then Elsbeth.

Don’t worry if you miss the episodes, as they will air on Thursday, Oct. 15 in their usual timeslots of 9 p.m. ET/PT and 10 p.m. ET/PT respectively.

Sheriff Country will premiere on Friday, Oct. 16, but it will be an hour later than the CBS fall schedule initially told us. Fire Country will kick off the night to then run into its spinoff series. This is likely due to the storyline from one show to the next, as Sheriff Country will move back to 8 p.m. ET/PT the following week.

As you’ll also know, CIA is no longer going to premiere in the fall. Instead, Watson season 2 will now take on the Monday night timeslot after FBI, with CIA pushed to the midseason. This is a smart move considering it has gone through a showrunner change, scripts are being polished, and only Tom Ellis has been cast so far.

CBS fall premiere dates for all the crime dramas

All times are in ET/PT unless otherwise stated. Again, this is only for the crime dramas, except Fire Country is mentioned as it’s likely to connect to the Sheriff Country series premiere, so will be worth watching.
