Tracker season 3 will be bringing back a few familiar faces for Colter Shaw to add to his adventures!
Season 3 of Tracker will introduce some changes to the hit CBS series. Both Abby McEanay (who played Colter's handler Velma) and Eric Grasie (who played hacker Bobby) have left the series. That leaves the only main cast members Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw and Fiona Rene as his lawyer ally Reenie. It is expected that Chris Lee will stay around as Bobby's cousin Randy, who will step in as Colter's hacker ally.
The show has long relied on Colter being a lone wolf type, so focusing on him traveling the country, aiding those in need, will remain the focus of the show. It will have to pick up after the Tracker season 2 finale, where Colter discovered that lineman Otto Waldron murdered Colter’s father, supposedly on behalf of Colter’s mother, Mary.
That was a big cliffhanger, and it will play into season 3 as Colter also faces a few familiar faces.

Who’s coming to Tracker season 3?
Speaking to TVLine, showrunner Elwood Reid revealed that neither Mary nor Otto will appear in the season 3 premiere as Colter is dealing with this discovery. Thankfully, he’ll have some help getting out of it by the return of his brother Russell (Jensen Ackles).
“They talk through what happened, and it’s an interesting scene, because you get to hear the two brothers talk about the different ways they feel about [the night their father died] and what they still carry with them. And then, of course, a case jumps off, and that conversation about their family continues through the rest of the episode in an exciting way.”
Russell won’t be the only old face as we’ll also see the Night Movers, the group that helps people in trouble vanish with new identities. It was hinted that the group was much larger than Colter surmised, and likely he runs into a new chapter of it on a case.
Also, while Colter usually meets new cops on his cases, he will run into Keaton (Brent Sexton), the ex-cop who aided him in a couple of cases in Tracker season 2. The character always has a great vibe with Colter as the veteran investigator who still has his skills and seeing them back together should be a highlight of the season.
So while Tracker may be losing a few regular faces, at least a couple of returning ones should spark up season 3.
Tracker season 3 premieres on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 8/7c on CBS.
