Kevin Atwater took the lead on Chicago PD season 13 episode 11, and of course, there were thoughts of Tasha. While Tasha left for Miami, Atwater remained behind, but that could change now that she’s come back with news.

While the case of the week was on the milder side compared to some of the other cases that Intelligence has dealt with recently, there was a lot of focus on Atwater’s personal life. He connected with his mark-turned-CI about Tasha, the police officer he hooked up with just a few episodes ago. She left for Miami, with the offer open to him to join her.
Yet, he’s remained in Chicago. This is where a lot of his life is, but his mark said that he should have sent her a text. He shouldn’t left life just pass him by, and by the end of the episode, he may just want to take steps to change.
Tasha returned with some surprising news on Chicago PD season 13 episode 11
At the end of the episode, Tasha returned, but not because she’s moving back to Miami. The offer is still open for him to move there, but there was something she needed to say to him face-to-face. She’s pregnant, and it’s clear the baby is his. Atwater didn’t even question it.
As Tasha made it clear that she is keeping the baby, with or without him, Atwater’s shocked expression turned into a smile. It looks like he his happy about the idea of being a father, even if it is under less than ideal circumstances, but what does this mean for his time in Chicago? Will we lose Atwater from Chicago PD?
Is there a way for Atwater to remain in Chicago?
With Atwater clearly on board with being a dad, the question of whether he can even stay in Chicago comes up for debate. The only way for it to work out is for him and Tasha to have some sort of long-distance co-parenting relationship, and that’s sure to lead to him not seeing his child for extended periods of time. Is he going to want to do that?
Probably not, so the only other way for him to stay is if Tasha moves back. However, that’s not likely something that he wants to do. So, in the end, it really means that Atwater needs to move to Miami.
When he decided to stay in Chicago, it was because he had a life there and he felt like he owed Voight to stay. However, now there is a much bigger sacrifice to make. By moving to Miami, it’s no longer a “selfish” decision. He’s not putting himself first but his unborn child, and everyone in Intelligence would agree that it’s the right thing to do.
We’ll have to wait to see how all this plays out. The story likely won’t come up again until after the Winter Olympics, but as of writing this, there’s no confirmation that we’re losing Kevin Atwater.
