A new month is here, and with it comes some great shows to watch. May is starting off strong, with a few shows back after taking a week off at the end of April. With so many crime dramas to watch on broadcast networks, it can be hard to pick and choose between them.
Well, we’re here with plenty of suggestions. There are some shows that need our support more than others right now, as we close in on the finales and the possibility of losing them next season. We need to make it clear that there are some shows we need more of!
This only covers the crime dramas on broadcast network tonight, Thursday, May 1. I will say that there’s a lot more to watch tonight!
4 crime dramas to watch and 1 to skip
Start the night with the new episode of Law & Order, as the NBC series remains on the bubble at the time of writing this. It took a week off following the epic crossover event with SVU, but now the series is back with a bang. Riley and Shaw will team back up together to investigate the murder of a car mechanic who was killed executioner-style. This certainly suggests that the business was a front for something.
After that, you’ll want to turn your attention to CBS. Elsbeth is airing an hour earlier than it has been recently now that Matlock has come to an end. Of course, Elsbeth is back on another case, and this time, it’s a playboy who has a bucket list that may include murder. Is he the one the cops are after? Well, her hunches are usually right! While the series has been renewed, sometimes, we just need a bit of laughter, and we’ll need it tonight because other shows are heavy.
To end the regular hours of primetime, turn over to NBC for the new episode of Found. There is a lot going on with Jamie’s kidnapper on the run, Sir now working with the FBI, and Trent still looking out for Heather/Lena. At the same time, Dhan finds out something about Jamie’s identity, but haven’t we already figured that out?
Once all this is done, you can spend an hour watching something that you’ve recorded. We highly recommend tuning into the new episode of 911 that airs tonight. Yes, it is going to leave you a bawling mess, but it’ll be worth it to grieve with the characters. This is Bobby’s funeral, and there is a lot of anger around.
What about the shows to skip, though? With everything that we’ve covered, there is one show that you’ll get away with watching the following day on streaming. It’s all about Law & Order: SVU. While the series hasn’t been renewed at the time of writing this, we’re sure it will be as there are plans for a new showrunner in season 27. It’ll be on Peacock the following day, so you won’t need to miss it for long.
We’ll be back every day with suggestions to watch and skip across the networks, and not just the Big 4 broadcast networks! After all, there’s plenty of crime dramas to check out on cable, streaming, and more.
