If there is one thing the British on-demand streaming service BritBox understands, its how to deliver top-notch cozy murder mysteries. Thanks in large part to the lack of gore and abundance of scenery ranging from the picturesque streets of London to idyllic villages to sun drenched islands, audiences love their whodunits including Death in Paradise.

Despite the show’s revolving door of Detective Inspectors and officers since its debut in 2011, the popular series Death in Paradise is set to return for season 15 after wrapping up season 14 to record numbers.

What fans can expect in Death in Paradise season 15

DI Mervin Wilson (Don Gilet), who anxiously wanted to return to his home in London, is somewhat forced to remain in Saint Marie where the local color is frequently marred by fresh murders. In the season 14 finale, Wilson discovered that the mystery person leaving flowers on his mother’s grave was a brother he never knew he had. Leaving him intrigued, now he has to stay to learn more.

Among those also reprising their roles are Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Darlene Curtis, Elizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey and newcomer Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Sebastian Rose. As for Commissioner Selwyn Patterson (Don Warrington), who turned in his badge for a life of retirement, fans will have to wait and see if the stern leader is really ready to give it all up.

Death in Paradise season 15 is set to premiere in January 2026. An exact release date is still to be confirmed.

Death in Benidorm will be joining the Paradise-verse

Another spin-off, Death in Benidorm, is set to help shine a light on mayhem in inviting places. John Hannah will play Dennis Crown, a former detective attempting to flee his past in the UK, only to learn trouble loves following him even all the way to Benidorm, Spain. When tourists begin turning up dead, he gets drawn back into investigating thanks to crime drama enthusiast barmaid Rosa. Death in Benidorm is scheduled to air sometime in 2026.

The upcoming series follows on the heels of Return to Paradise which premiered in October 2024 and stars Anna Samson as London’s Metropolitan Police Inspector Mackenzie Clarke who returns to her hometown of Dolphin Cove, Australia to help fix up her mother's house, but ends up temporarily (or so she thought) re-joining the local police team to help them solve a murder.

In 2023, former Saint Marie DI Humphrey Goodman found himself along with fiancé Martha (Sally Bretton) in her hometown of Shipton Abbott near the Devon coast in Beyond Paradise. Here, Goodman leads a new police force in solving crimes rooted in arson, theft, community conflicts, family dramas, and personal grievances with a few deaths sprinkled in here and there.

With so many spin-offs in play, an adventurous cross-over surely cannot be ruled out at some point in the future.
