Grosse Pointe Garden Society is moving out of its difficult Sunday night timeslot this week. Don't forget to set the new night in your diaries.

Hands up if you’re loving the soapiness of Grosse Pointe Garden Society. This is one of those shows that keeps getting wilder, and we’re here for it. Well, make sure you tune in on its new nights.

Sunday nights aren’t the best night for freshman dramas, especially that 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot. So, when Grosse Pointe Garden Society got that timeslot, we were worried and disappointed. It looks like NBC has admitted that it did the wrong thing, and now that a slightly better timeslot has opened up, the new crime dramedy has landed it.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society is moving to Friday nights

Make sure you tune in on Friday, April 11 for the new episode. It will air at the earlier time of 8 p.m. ET/PT. Yes, for the Happy’s Place fans, that series has wrapped its first season. There is some hope that the success of that show in the timeslot will help this new dramedy, but I do worry that it’s a little bit too late for that.

Fridays can be a better night than Sundays. Networks allow for a slightly lower linear rating figure on Fridays knowing that people go out, and they can offer a fresh lease on life for a series. Just look at how Bones and Supernatural both picked up in the past, and even SWAT saw a tick up in the linear ratings when it first moved to this timeslot.

The problem for Grosse Pointe is that it’s only just started. It didn’t have the initial numbers to climb back up to.

It’s all about the viewership to save Grosse Pointe Garden Society

In the end, there is only one thing that can save the series right now. It’s all about the viewership, so if you want to see it get a second season, you need to watch live. And you need to get your friends to watch live. Don’t rely on the networks putting the shows on their own streaming platforms, because as we’ve seen with a few cancellations already this season, it’s just not happening.

The series has many a mystery to it. We need to know who Quiche is and why they were killed, and we need to know who killed Molly’s dog. We need to know whether Tucker and Catherine can make it, and we need to see why Brett faces losing his kids.

There’s so much going on, and so little time to tell the story. Make sure you get the chance of night in your diary.

Grosse Pointe Garden Society will air on Fridays at 8/7c on NBC. Catch up on the series on Peacock.
