When Scott Forrester left the Fly Team, all eyes were on whether Cameron Vo would step up as leader. FBI: International season 4 made it clear that wouldn’t happen with the introduction of Wes Mitchell. However, the writers made it clear that they had heard us, and they brought up the reason why Vo couldn’t take the job.
Mitchell asked Vo why she wasn’t the new Fly Team leader, and she shared the biggest reason. She wasn’t a GS-14 yet, and that meant the position wasn’t open to her. Of course, it kept the door open should the need arise again, and now that the series is coming to an end, it’s time to make Vo the leader.
FBI: International writers have time to craft an ending
CBS announced with good time that the series would come to an end. As much as we hate it, the writers have some time to change the season finale to a series finale, with a handful of episodes still to film. This offers an opportunity for the writers to correct the wrong of not having Vo step up as a leader.
Okay, so the show gave us a genuine reason why it wasn’t possible. Vo needed experience as a No. 2 and she needed to move up through the ranks. Now it’s time to make that possible.
Vo deserves to be the future leader of the Fly Team in FBI: International
Vo and Raines are the only two OG characters left on the series. One of them needs to move up through the ranks, but Raines doesn’t look like he’s interested in doing that. Vo has been the one to step up. She was the newest member of the team in the series premiere, and she’s worked her way to Forrester’s and now Mitchell’s No. 2.
She hasn’t shied away from responsibility and leadership. When Forrester was missing, Vo took over for the last two episodes of FBI: International season 3. She has proven that she has what it takes to make smart decisions, and now she needs someone up top to agree with that.
The series has introduced a threat to Mitchell in the form of David Zaleski. Maybe he could show up at the very end and create more problems. This time, we could see Mitchell step down but Vo get the promotion that she deserves.
