Found fans get a disappointing update about the NBC series

Found is no longer being shopped around.

There is some disappointing news for Found fans everywhere. The series has ended the shopping around process with no new home.

The news comes just months after the cancellation, and in a way, it’s not a surprise. Cast options would have been up, and without a new home, they wouldn’t have been extended. This would have meant if a home wasn’t found before then, it was going to be bad news.

Found season 3 has failed to find a new home

TVLine delivered the disappointing news when a fan wrote in to ask about the progress on finding a home for it. Matt Webb Mitvoch shared the disappointing news that not only had the series found a new home, but that the shopping process was finished. This makes it clear that everyone involved has stopped the fight to bring the series back to our screens.

Sources tell me that no new home was found for Found, and the cancelled NBC drama’s “shopping” process has ended.

This won’t have happened without a discussion, though. It was clear that those involved in the series wanted to continue to tell the story. The Found season 2 finale was such a major cliffhanger that we need closure to the story. If only we could at least get a movie in the way that Timeless did.

Eventually, everyone needs to move onto other projects. Of course, we would love to see a change of heart at some point, and for a network to realize that the wrong decision was made.

The Hunting Party will take Found’s timeslot

There is another crime drama moving into the Thursday night timeslot that Found had in season 2. The Hunting Party season 2 will move from Mondays to Tuesdays, and I’ll admit that I’m worried for it. This timeslot is a tricky one, and I do put some of the blame on Found not keeping its audience on that timeslot. The 10 p.m. ET/PT timeslot no longer works.

However, we will want to give The Hunting Party season 2 a chance. The first season focused on a secret team put together when a top-secret prisoner with previously-thought dead inmates had escaped from. There were a lot of questions about what happened at the prison, as it looked to be an inside job, and it turned out that there was something much bigger going on in the facility than anybody knew.

The end of the first season led to the secret group disbanded due to AG Mallory. This really was due to the team getting a little too close to the truth, and now they’re sure to end up working on the side to continue to catch criminals and find out what was really going on in that prison.

Found and The Hunting Party are available to stream on Peacock.
