It takes a big person to admit when mistakes were made, and Gabi is that person in Found season 2, episode 17.

Admitting you’re wrong is one of the hardest things that you can do, but it’s also one of the most mature things that you can do. Gabi shows how it’s possible to fix problems when you’re willing to accept you were wrong in Found season 2, episode 17.

Caution: This post contains SPOILERS for Found season 2, episode 17.

There are a lot of answers in this episode, but there are also questions. However, it seems like a lot of our suspicions are coming true by the end of the episode. We also get a lot more on the way the M&A Team was formed, and how they all ended up connected to Gabi.

Figuring out a case while trapped in Found season 2, episode 17

The big focus of the episode is the case of the week. This one doesn’t come to M&A in the usual way. A man named Monty comes into the office, and Gabi immediately recognizes him. She put him away years earlier, and now he seems to be back for revenge. Only he’s not.

He needs to find his missing son, and he makes it clear that Gabi trusted the wrong people in the past. He blames her for putting him in jail, and now he won’t let her leave the building until she finds where his son is. Of course, that sets the M&A Team on a mission to find a way to save Gabi and Margaret, who is also trapped inside with them.

Monty shoots out the cameras so Zeke can’t see what’s going on. Zeke can listen, though. After all, the team points out that they are all needed if they’re going to help Monty find his son. It’s a nerve-wracking case, but it turns out to be one that offers the most growth. Gabi is able to admit that she was wrong at first.

After Margaret tells Gabi to open up about her own past to connect with Monty, Gabi decides to admit that she believed Monty’s wife right away because of her own backstory. The man who abducted her was someone she knew and trusted, so naturally, she was going to think bad of other men in other people’s lives. That wasn’t fair on Monty, and as she and the team find out that the doctor falsified the abuse claims against Monty that led to the protective order in the first place, she realizes that she needs to help Monty find his son.

It’s also his wife who needs to be found. Both of them have gone missing, and Monty’s wife has a history of postnatal depression. Monty had tried to get help for his wife in the past, but she fought against it and her parents didn’t like him, so the initial situation happened. Fortunately, Zeke was able to find some payments his wife made to someone else, opening the door to some sort of explantation.

Monty’s wife found out that he was getting released, and she wanted her family to get back together. Realizing how much her own parents manipulated her, she paid to secure a safe place to stay while she fought to have the protective order against Monty lifted. However, she needed a friend to take care of her son while she got the help that Monty always wanted to get her.

By the end of the episode, we get a bittersweet ending. The family is reunited, and Monty has forgiven his wife for everything that happened. He wants to be with her and his son, but there is the issue of holding M&A hostage. Monty knows that he needs to serve his time for doing that, showing the fact that he was a good but desperate man from the start. As his wife is going to remain in her treatment for the next two weeks, a friend will look after their son. Lacey can help to get the protective order lifted, so they can be a family when they have a chance to be reunited.

Sir is worried about Gabi’s safety in Found season 2

Sir can’t do much while imprisoned, but he wants to help. Of course he does. The minute he finds out that Gabi is in danger, he needs to save her. He’s obsessed with her, and he will do whatever it takes to have this ending that he’s always envisioned for them.

“Heavy Boots” doesn’t really want to use Sir’s help, but he needs to in this episode. He needs to find the secret way into M&A that Sir used before. With Gabi’s life on the line, Sir gives up the information.

Trent is slowly starting to see that the world isn’t quite black and white. While he gets in and tackles Monty to the ground, he does step back and allow Gabi to help Monty find his son. The Trent of Found season 1 probably wouldn’t have done this. He is seeing that Gabi’s madness has some methods to it.

We also see just how far Trent is willing to go to protect Gabi. He won’t work with Sir at all; he doesn’t want someone like that working with him. Yet, when it comes to Gabi, Sir is the first person he turns to. If that doesn’t show that there is hope for Gabi and Trent to get back together, I don’t know what does!

Margaret figures out who Sir’s accomplice is in Found

When Margaret learns that Jamie went to see Sir, she goes to speak with Sir to find out what Jamie wanted. Of course, when someone wants something from Sir, he isn’t going to just give it up. He loves it when people need him for something, so he plays a game.

As Margaret bumps into Heather on the way out, she notices something. At the end of the episode, we learn that Margaret is sure that Heather is Sir’s sister, Lena.

Now, I get Margaret just accepting Heather and things that happened to her, but I don’t understand Gabi’s surprise that Heather could be Sir’s sister. It doesn’t make sense that Gabi thought Heather was just a normal defense attorney. She usually has a gut instinct when people are lying, and it was clear that something was fishy about Heather’s story in the hospital. It even seemed like Gabi believed that, so I’m surprised by Gabi’s reaction in this episode.

However, with this knowledge, Gabi now has confirmation that Christian wasn’t the accomplice. Lena is, and now it’s finally time for us to get some justification for not believing that Heather was honest. She was always up to something, coming into Trent’s life too easily and suddenly getting caught up in the Sir/Christian drama.

By the way, Dhan now believes that Jamie is really Jamie. He notes that he doesn’t need the DNA tests to prove it. The way Jamie ran to try to save Margaret when Monty was holding them hostage made it clear that he is who he says he is, and he’s slowly learning that everything he was told as a boy was a lie. Margaret does love him, and now he is starting to open his heart to her.

I’m glad the series is going with this storyline, as the alternative has already been done. I want to see why Jamie stayed away for so long, why he came back when he did, and what he’s going to do now with what is clearly Stockholm Syndrome.

Margaret does get a clue at the end for who took Jamie. Sir says something Jamie said to him, saying it came from his mother. Well, it didn't come from Margaret, but it's clear that Margaret has heard of this before.
