The great thing about this time of year is getting the Halloween-themed episodes of TV shows. High Potential season 2, episode 6 brought us that, and it did not disappoint.
Caution: This post contains SPOILERS from High Potential season 2, episode 6.
When Morgan and Karadec are called to a dead body in a Victorian home, Morgan can’t help but point out that it’s Halloween. This is their first case working together, and we get an insight into Karadec as a boy. Yes, he always dressed as a cop for Halloween.
This is also a time to have fun with the case, considering the setting and the reports of people seeing a woman in white in the house.

The ghost of a wife in High Potential season 2, episode 6?
Of course, there is a story of a woman who died in the house. This leads to a story of a ghost that haunts the place, and it seems like Danny, the deceased owner of the house, believed in this ghost story. In fact, he believed it so much that he hired a psychic to help clean the space from the spirits.
Morgan quickly realizes that the woman is a fraud, but she makes it clear she didn’t kill Danny. It wouldn’t be good for business to kill her highest paying client.
So the cops move on, and they head back to the house. There are a few clues as to the events going on, including the story of hearing a woman crying in different parts of the house. Sure enough, Morgan finds a bag of equipment in the vents, while Karadec finds someone dressed up as a bride in the basement.
With the ghost bride now arrested, we seem to get somewhere with the case. She was hired by the second wife, who was going through a divorce with Danny at the time. Like all spouses, she suddenly becomes the main suspect, but there’s a catch with this woman killing Danny. The house was only in Danny’s name, and she wanted that house. Now that Danny has died, the house goes to his daughter from his first marriage.
So, it wasn’t her. She had no reason to want him dead. So, who was it?

When it’s not the spouse, it’s the fraud
Morgan figures it out, but they need to find a way to catch the woman red-handed. Fortunately, the daughter is willing to help with this part of the case, and she turns to the psychic to go in and cleanse the space again.
That’s just what the woman wanted, as she gets to go into another room to grab a diamond necklace. Morgan had figured it out due to the type of oils she uses that won’t tarnish the diamonds when handling them.
It’s an easy case to solve once the fraud has been caught in the act. That’s it; case closed.

Wagner and Roman subplots continue
We get a little of the two other subplots in the series, with the first being Wagner. He decides to question the ghost bride and get answers, giving us a look at his style. He’s good at his job, but why didn’t he tell the others what he was going to do in the room? It doesn’t make a lot of sense.
He does get a sense of Morgan, though, when he asks if she’s ever been married. Her reaction makes it clear that she’s scared of something, but is he using all of his observations to get rid of her or to realize that she’s an essential part of Major Crimes? I really hope that we don’t have the typical bad guy!
Then there’s the Roman plot. After silent treatment from Ava all episode, High Potential season 2, episode 6 ends with Morgan and Ava having a heart-to-heart. Morgan finally shows Ava items in the backpack, although some of them are already with Soto for processing.
There is something that connects to Ava, the program from her first-grade recital. It proves that Roman showed up, lurking in the shadows, which means he didn’t really want to leave his family behind, so the show shouldn't follow the French counterpart. He’s kept an eye on them, but it’s clear something wasn’t safe for him to be near them. My question now: how did Morgan not spot him?
High Potential airs on Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
