The Will Trent season 3 finale ended with two lives on the line. We have to wait until 2026 for the Will Trent season 4 premiere, and that means all eyes are on whether both Ormewood and Amanda will survive.
We did worry that having Detective Wilks play more of a prominent role in the Atlanta PD would mean some devastating news for Detective Ormewood. However, Iantha Richardson, who plays GBI Agent Faith Mitchell, has a positive update that seems to spoil the outcome.

Ormewood’s collapse in the Will Trent season 3 finale explained
From the beginning of Will Trent season 3, it was clear that there was something wrong with Ormewood. He collapsed in work, leading to him being diagnosed with a brain tumor. At the end of the third season, he collapsed, and it led to a lot of questions about whether he would survive or not.
With Kevin Daniels being upped to series regular, it means we’ll see a lot more of Detective Wilks. This could have suggested that Ormewood wouldn’t make it after collapsing, but it’s also possible that Ormewood is taking some time off.
Well, it definitely looks like the latter thanks to Richardson’s words to TVLine. She certainly spoils Will Trent season 4.

Iantha Richardson shares Faith plays a part in Ormewood’s recovery
When speaking with TVLine with Richardson at the Disney Upfronts back in May 2025, she shared some news that seemed to spoil the outcome. Faith is going to play an important role in Ormewood’s recovery, which hints that he will survive.
Faith and Ormewood now live together as roommates. In fact, Ormewood called for Faith as his vision blurred and he started to collapse, giving Faith warning to get in and call 911. If she acted fast enough, it’s possible that he is rushed to the hospital to get the help he needs. However, it will take time to recover from this, and he’ll need support around him.
Not only will Ormewood need the physical support, but he’ll need mental support. This is a man who isn’t used to letting other people do things for him. He isn’t used to being the one to ask for help, and that could play a part in his mental health. We all know that to make strong physical recoveries, good mental health is needed, and Faith can be there to be his cheerleader.
The best thing about Faith is that she isn’t your standard, bubbly American girl. So, while she would be a cheerleader, she’d do it without annoying Ormewood with a quirky pep talk. She’d probably deliver the tough love that he needs.
Will Trent season 4 will premiere in 2026 on ABC.
