Out of all the characters in Found, Trent seems of have had the least development. However, there was hope for more if Found season 3 happened. There’s a lot to unpack in his past, and we need more episodes to give the writers a chance to do that.
At the end of the second season, Trent was still under investigation for his relationship with Heather, who turned out to be Lena, Sir’s sister. However, that didn’t stop him from doing his job, and he was there when Lena was arrested. At the same time, he was the one called to Sir’s cell when it turned out that Sir had been attacked.
Trent will need to learn about Gabi in Found season 3
The first thing that needs to happen is for Trent to learn about what happened to Gabi. She confessed to holding Sir hostage in a live broadcast, but Trent was busy at Sir’s cell when it all happened. That would mean he won’t know for some time that Gabi has been arrested. After all, with a confession like that, the police would have no choice but to arrest her.
This is surely going to lead to a few more problems for Trent’s career. He’s already under investigation for his relationship with Lena, even though he didn’t know that she was Sir’s sister at first. His relationship with Gabi has already been pulled into question, so it’s sure to come up with how much he knew.
Now, at the start of Found season 2, Trent was ready to make sure Gabi went down for her crimes against Sir, so that could help him now that she’s confessed again. After all, it wasn’t Trent who let her go, as she couldn’t be held when Sir said that he wasn’t held captive. However, it makes things tricky for Trent.
There is also the topic of Lena, as Trent is still angry that she used him to get to Gabi. We need to see him fight to bring Lena down, especially for the murder of Christian, who didn’t deserve the ending that he got.
Trent needs to face his father’s past in Found
Something that briefly came up in Found season 2 was Trent’s father’s ways of the past. It’s clear that his dad wasn’t one of the good cops, with Trent, Gabi, and the M&A Team helping to find the missing children from all those years ago.
What else did Trent’s father do when he was a cop? What was pushed under the rug? What wasn’t investigated properly? How many other people were found with “evidence” on them? This is a big storyline that Found season 3 will need to delve into, especially with Trent’s own integrity being questioned.
I don’t think that Sir is dead, and I could see Sir taunting “Heavy Boots” all the more with the fact that his dad isn’t the hero he always thought he was. That is if Sir remembers anything!
