The time has come for winter hiatuses to start, and 911: Nashville is one of the first shows to go off the air. There are no more new episodes of the new 911 series to come in 2025.

We did report this as soon as ABC confirmed the fall finale date for the series in a way to prepare everyone. This is much sooner than we’re used to for the ABC shows, and there will be many worried that we’ll have to wait until the spring for new episodes. There is some good news about the return date.

911: Nashville will be back sooner than expected

ABC tends to air the winter finales of Thursday shows in December and then bring them back in March of the following year. It’s supposed to help with a consistent schedule, but that’s not going to be the case this year. Maybe it’s all the complaints from the previous two years, or maybe it’s just because of the Winter Olympics, but 911: Nashville and the rest of TGIT will return on Thursday, Jan. 8. The new 911 spinoff will air at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC as usual.

There is a chance that we’ll see a break in February. The Winter Olympics will air on NBC, and it’s possible that ABC won’t want to compete with that. This will help with scheduling needs, as otherwise, we’re going to get an on-off schedule until May!

What to expect in 911: Nashville season 1 episode 7

When the series returns, it will pick up with the major cliffhanger left at the end of the sixth hour. The whole of Nashville has been hijacked, and the hijackers are demanding a ransom. Otherwise, they will cause complete chaos in the city.

We get to see some of the chaos, with traffic lights all turning green at the same time, and the major boat crash into the bridge — why did everyone just stand and watch on the bridge when they could see what was happening?

Meanwhile, Cammie and the dispatchers are going to be locked out of their system. They’ll need to find an old-school way to get around it all if they want to get the right people to the right destination.

There’s also personal drama for the Hart family. Blythe’s horse got spooked at all the sudden sirens, and she was thrown off into a barbed wire fence. Don notes in the promo that his wife didn’t get back from her ride, and he’s sure to know that something has happened.

911: Nashville returns on Thursday, Jan. 8 at 9/8c on ABC.
