Shouldn't the BAU get Holly the help she needs anyway in Criminal Minds: Evolution?

Sydney realized that her daughters need closure with their father in Criminal Minds: Evolution. That meant she was willing to allow them to say goodbye. However, that moment turned into Voit at risk.

Voit would only say goodbye to his daughters if he was able to hold them. Sydney and her children agreed, and so did the BAU. There wasn’t much that Voit could do with where he is and all the cameras watching him. Plus, would he really hurt his daughters?

Well, it wasn’t his daughters’ safety that needed to be considered. It was Voit’s. Holly gave her dad a letter that made it clear she knows all his secrets and lies. She then attacked him with a weapon she snuck in. She was stopped, but she made it very clear to JJ that she wanted her father dead.

Holly needs a lot of help in Criminal Minds: Evolution

Voit made it clear to Luke that Holly needs help, and normal therapy isn’t going to work. Holly is showing signs of becoming what her father is, and Voit wants to prevent that. She needs people trained like the BAU team members to get into her mind and save her.

Yet Luke sat there and taunted Voit. He made it clear that he wouldn’t get Holly the help she needs. Instead, he would wait for Holly to become a serial killer and then hunt her down. Later on, Prentiss used Holly’s need for help as a way to get Voit to agree to help work with the man they believe could be Gold Star.

Doesn’t this seem a little off for the BAU? Of course, this was all for show for Voit. They need him to think that they won’t help his daughter. They want him to think that Holly is at risk of turning into a serial killer and eventually being captured. While he manipulates and schemes, there is only so much he can hide from the BAU when it comes to his family. They know that he will do things to keep his family protected and safe.

So, by taunting him that they wouldn’t help Holly, the BAU now has a way to manipulate Voit. They need him to believe that they will do nothing.

But this is the BAU, and we know the BAU well. Of course they would try to prevent the development of a serial killer, and that means they’d get Holly the help she needs anyway.
